Karate America Stoughton has invited selected law
enforcement officers, security professionals, military personnel and ground
fighting practitioners to join us for an open workout in ground fighting
techniques.
The workout session will
be from
10:00
to
2pm
at the Stoughton High School Fieldhouse. (Get
directions)
This community event will be occurring during the
3rd Annual Norse Warrior Karate Open.
Why are we doing this?
-
In
remembrance of 9/11, we wish to honor the commitment of community safety
professionals by creating an opportunity to practice/learn vital skills from
training professionals and veteran martial artists in safe, informal
setting,
-
To
provide a venue for sharing of techniques and skills in a safe, positive
environment,
-
To
encourage sharing & connections with others, regardless of skill level,
-
To
encourage tournament-goers (Norse Warrior Karate Open) to view the workout and ask questions of practitioners and
instructors who will be attending.
The atmosphere will be non-competitive,
structured, relaxed -- we know everybody has to work the next week!
Female officers are especially welcome as we will likely have female
martial artists on site who can add their perspective to techniques.
There will be a $5.00 mat fee to cover insurance required by the venue.
Participants will check in, sign a waiver, pay the mat fee, and agree to abide
by a few simple rules of safety. Work-out attire or martial arts
uniform is recommended.
Please call 608.877.1888 or contact us at
Karate America Stoughton if
you would like to participate in this first-ever community event.
